Hill’s uses 3 guiding philosophies
In our efforts to create a better world for future generations of pets, we make decisions based on three distinct principles:
Science-led nutrition
We believe that science is the best path to giving your pet the best care possible. Our Ph.D. nutritionists and veterinarians search for new breakthroughs that can transform a dog or cat’s life for the better.

Hill’s nutritional philosophy
Trends come and go, but we believe that science should always lead the way, creating food that helps pets live happy, healthy lives.

The Hill’s Pet Nutrition Center
Innovative pet food takes an understanding of what pets love. That’s why more than 900 dogs and cats ensure that our final products can be enjoyed by pets around the world.

High-quality standards
We accept ingredients from high-quality suppliers that meet our strict standards. Each ingredient undergoes a safety check to ensure it meets our nutritional requirements. Our finished products are inspected and tested for key nutrients to ensure consistency and safety.
Pets bring people together
Pets have a way of transforming us as individuals and as a community. We embrace a diverse workforce, brought together by a love for pets.
A better world for pets and people
We’re committed to minimizing our environmental footprint, replenishing natural resources and leading our industry in more ethical, responsible practices.
Disaster relief
From Australia to the US, The Hill’s Disaster Relief Network has partnered with shelters around the world to provide nutritional support for pets and shelters in need.
- We’ve responded to more than 100 global natural disasters
- Donated more than 400,000 lb of food
Volunteering
Hill’s employees volunteered over 4,600 hours globally in 2019, which is the equivalent of over 2 work years.
Partnering with those who share our vision
The best work is never done alone, which is why we work with organizations that share similar sustainability values.
